Lowell and Peggy Jean Beck

Lowell Eugene and Peggy Jean Beck Sr., Kokomo, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house and dinner at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 5 at Elite Banquet and Conference Center.

Lowell and the former Peggy Jean Browning were married Oct. 2, 1952, in High Point, N.C., by the Rev. Otis Hampton. They met at a wedding. When he proposed, Lowell said, “Hey, what you doing on Oct. 2, wanna get married?”

Peggy Jean was employed by Dr. Jay Kaushal before her retirement. Lowell is retired from Chrysler Corp.

Their children are Lowell E. Beck Jr., Teresa Beck and Sherry L. Stokes, all of Kokomo. They have four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
