Richard N. and Barbara J. Lennon, Kokomo, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They had a weeklong family gathering at Nags Head, N.C., with their children and Barbara’s two sisters, Patricia Tonn and Cheryl and husband Robert Jirschele. A private celebration was on Thanksgiving in Louisville, Ky.
The couple were married Oct. 20, 1962, at St. Jude Catholic Church, Wauwatosa, Wis., by Monsignor Joseph Holleran, pastor. They met on a blind date in 1961 and he proposed that year.
Barbara was a registered nurse with R.N., B.S.N., and M.S.N. degrees. She retired in 2000 after 40 years. Richard was an aerospace engineer for 11 years and held various automotive positions with GM/Delco/Delphi for 29 years. His degrees are B.S.E.E. and M.B.A.
Their children are Michael and Linda (Godsey) Lennon, Tamarac, Fla.; Patrick J. Lennon and son Patrick N., Kokomo; and Keith C. and Bonnie (Williams) Lennon and daughter, Lauren, Fishers.
