Gene and Jane Hendrickson

Gene and Jane Hendrickson, Kokomo, are enjoying celebrations of their 60th wedding anniversary. In late October, they were honored at a family gathering hosted by Joe and Susie Gilbert at their farm near New London. This party also recognized Gene’s September birthday. In November, they spent the week of their anniversary at a resort on the beach in Jupiter, Fla., and tonight they will be the guests of honor at a dinner party hosted by their children at Matteo’s Italian Restaurant in Noblesville.

Gene and the former Jane Gilbert met as children at New London Friends Church and were married there on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, 1952. Theirs was the first wedding in the newly rebuilt church, which had been destroyed by fire a year earlier.

They owned and operated Hendrickson Distributing Co. of Russiaville. Since retiring from the business, Gene has driven motor homes to dealers all over the country for Don Ray Drive-a-Way of Decatur.

Their children are Gil and Alicia Hendrickson, Kokomo, Marcia and Bob Clutter, Thorntown, and David, who is deceased. Grandchildren are Lauren and Steve Guynn, Indianapolis, Whitney Hendrickson, Fishers, and Blake, Davis and Miles Clutter, Thorntown.
