Delphi officer injured in crash
DELPHI — A Delphi police officer injured in a crash Thursday morning has been released from the hospital.
According to a news release from Delphi Police Chief Justin Darling, Officer Justin Wilson, 29, was involved in a minor personal-injury crash at 2:21 a.m. on Ind. 25 near 625 West, just north of Delphi. Wilson complained of back and neck pain. He was transported to Home Hospital in Lafayette for observation and discharged later the same day.
Wilson had been turning around in a driveway to pursue a speeding vehicle. When he pulled his cruiser onto the roadway, it was struck in the side by a minivan being driven by Armando Lorenzo Felipe, 43, Logansport.
Darling reported that Wilson had his emergency lights
activated at the time of the
collision.
Felipe, along with several passengers in the minivan, were not injured, police say.
No citations were issued at the scene of the crash, which is being investigated by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department.
