Two arrested on felony drug charges

Police arrested two Kokomo men on multiple felony charges after police allegedly found cocaine and marijuana in their car, according to police reports.

Kokomo police preliminarily charged Michael Tyrone Wilson, 31, 1000 block of South Bell Street, and Jordan Alan Martin, 18, 1500 block of West Markland Avenue, with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a park.

Officer Aaron Tarrh was patrolling near the intersection of Sycamore and Ohio streets late Friday when he noticed a Chevrolet Cavalier that was making loud exhaust noises because it was missing a muffler.

Tarrh pulled over the car, and he approached Wilson in the passenger’s seat. Wilson appeared nervous and tried to offer Tarrh money, according to reports.

The officer called in a K-9 unit. Officers searched both men and allegedly found a partially burnt, hand-rolled cigarette with a “plant material” in Martin’s pocket.

A police dog sniffed the car and allegedly found stuffed in the seats plastic sandwich bags with substances, which later tested positive as marijuana and cocaine, according to police reports. Police found more drugs and paraphernalia in the car’s trunk.
