1st study the Bible before explaining it

Stephen Dick’s column in the Tribune Wednesday calling Bert Chapman, a Purdue professor, a bigot among other things shows very clearly the ignorance of the critics of Christianity.

Dick calls Chapman’s blog anti-Christian and does so while demonstrating virtually no knowledge of Christianity. He asks if Chapman is endorsing “the murder, incest, polygamy and misogyny characterized in the Old Testament.” He clearly cannot distinguish between what is historical information in the Old Testament and the clear instructions of God that these things are to be avoided and are condemned by him.

Dick obviously does not know Jesus Christ so loves all men that he died on the cross of Calvary so that all men could have the opportunity to be reconciled with God and be absolved of their sins before God because Christ paid the price for us. Christ was buried and he arose the third day to clearly prove that he conquered ultimate death, the eternal separation of man from God.

Dick does not know that the Bible clearly teaches that God hates sin but still loves the sinner. I know that not all Christians have practiced this concept as God intends, but the criteria for judgment of a religion is to look at what it and its founder teaches.

Dick should actually try reading and studying the Bible regularly before he purports to say what it means. By the way, I have been doing that for 45 years.

Health care reform is unconstitutional

Joe Donnelly courageous? I think not!

I would not use works like courageous for voting yes to the health care takeover bill.

Words to better describe Joe’s actions of voting yes for the health care takeover bill are: “uncourageous” for caving to his party and lobbyists and “traitorous” for violating his oath of office to uphold the Constitution.

Congress does not have the authority to mandate a citizen’s purchase of anything! It is a direct violation of individual rights, and many still do not understand that.

People need to wake up! Your public servants have become your masters. It is our duty as citizens to govern our government.

Understand this, my fellow Americans: Your public servants, who care so much about you, have passed another law that some lobbyist handed them, and it is good for “us the people,” but they have excluded themselves once again from this bill.

Check the information I am telling you for yourself. Call a representative and ask him if he will be on the same public option. Ask him how many laws that he, your servant, passed that also applies to him.

Despise the free lunch; what is offered for free is dangerous. It usually involved a trick or a hidden agenda. If your representatives are unwilling to be included in this wonderful gift, that should tell you everything about it.
