Body of infant found in Indianapolis creek

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indianapolis police are investigating the discovery of an infant's body in a creek on the city's east side.

Police say they received a call Sunday morning from a man who told them he'd found an infant's body in the creek behind his home.

WTHR-TV reports police are asking anyone with information about the infant to contact them. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday on the body.

A resident who lives in the area where the body was found says she's stunned by the news. Jill Larson says she can't imagine that the infant belonged to anyone in the neighborhood.
