A costume shop and tanning salon plans to have a grand opening Wednesday.

Doors will open 10 a.m. that day at Gabrielle’s Costumes and Tanning, 724 Belvedere Drive, said shop owner Gabrielle Shiller.

The shop, which plans to sell costumes to dancers and exotic dancers, will have gift giveaways throughout the day.

Custom-made costumes and alterations are major focuses of the business. Shiller also plans to install four tanning beds.

Business hours are 10 a.m.-10 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday. For more information, call 765-457-5100.

Black Royalty Clothing will have its grand release open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Carver Community Center, 1030 N. Purdum St.

The locally owned apparel company is owned by Dominique Williams and Michael Heiskell Jr.

Williams, a 2011 Taylor High School graduate, said the clothing line offers urban and professional clothing for children and adults.

“We believe royalty is inside of everyone and everything,” the 18-year-old said. “We took one of the dullest colors of the spectrum, black, to show that royalty is within that color and royalty is within you.”

The open house is free, with door prizes and refreshments available.

Hiring

Kohl’s Department Stores plans to hire about 130 people to work at the Marion store the company plans to open in September.

A job fair starts today and runs through Thursday at the Roseburg Event

Center, 2983 W. 38th St., Marion.

Applicants can visit www.kohlscareers.com or call 877-639-5645 to schedule interviews and find information about times and the location for the fair.

The store says it needs register operators, department associates, customer service representatives, early-morning freight unloaders and evening ad set associates.

Events

The 28th annual Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Golf Outing 2011 is Aug. 17 at Chippendale Golf Course.

Members and stakeholders of the Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance, the chamber’s parent organization, are invited to the event.

Teams for the golf outing must have combined handicaps of 50 or higher. The outing will be a Captain’s Choice format. Participants can assemble their own teams or allow the chamber to group golfers.

Early registration is due Thursday and costs $115 per person. Registration cost $125 per person after Thursday.

Costs include golf, a cart, beverages and door prizes.
