Jordan K. Broomfield, daughter of Jesse and Julie Broomfield of Kokomo, is the 2010 recipient of the KHS Spirit of 1961 scholarship.
She will use the $1,000 award to study physical therapy at either University of Indianapolis or I.U.P.U.I. She ranks 51 in her class.
Broomfield is the National Honor Society and is an honor roll student. She was the top math student in 2008, selected to the National Forensic League and was the mental attitude winner for varsity basketball. She was an N.C.C. all academic team member in golf and basketball and was a delegate to Hoosier Girls State.
Her school activities include Girls League Council, Spanish Club, Future Business Leaders of America, Mayor’s Youth Advisory Board and Script K.
She was captain of the varsity golf and softball teams and played basketball. She was all-county in softball and received an honor ring for attaining eight varsity athletic letters.
Community service activities include Samaritan Caregivers, Habitat for Humanity, American Red Cross, American Cancer Society and the Nearly New consignment shop.
