Maple Crest students help with grant project

The Maple Crest student honor council recently helped Bona Vista receive a $500 grant from the Colts Foundation to repair and update the early childhood service art studio and library.

Students from Maple Crest spent a Saturday morning cleaning, assembling and reorganizing materials in the library and art studio.

Student Grace Burton said, “Working at Bona Vista was a great place to volunteer. Getting a grant to buy them new things was awesome. It is wonderful to know that the Colts helped us give back to our community.”

Getting youth involved at a young age educates them on the importance of giving back to their community. Student Michaela Wade said, “I had fun with my friends while helping others. We helped organize and clean the art room to make it a special place for their children.”
