Western Primary students earn awards

— Two Western Primary School first-graders won first and second place in the state in the PBS Kids to Go writers contest.

Andrea Reeder won first place with her story, “Sir Turtle Visits Its Mom and Dad.” Her story will move on to national competition.

Avery Hayes won second place with his story, “Chester the Ghost.” Both are in Marcia Smith’s class, and will attend the awards ceremony at noon June 12 in Military Park in Indianapolis.
