HCL: The Taurus re-imagined

It’s reminiscent of a top-end luxury car

With the release of the 2010 Taurus, the car’s rebirth is complete.

While it was the company’s top-selling sedan nearly from its 1986 inaugural, Ford pulled the plug on the Taurus nameplate for the 2007 model year.

Yet, a year later, the Taurus was back, as Ford took the Five Hundred full-size sedan and awarded it the Taurus name.

Ford completely redesigned the Taurus this year, according to Rick Hasty of Brad Howell Ford in Greentown, ridding it of the oval shape it had known for more than 10 years.

What emerged from the redesign is an American-built sedan with lines and curves reminiscent of a top-end luxury car.

Aerodynamically engineered, the lines of the Taurus ascend easily across the hood, up the windshield and to the roof where they begin a gentle descent to the trunk. And starting at the grille, the curves work their way around the car as well.
