State of the City speech is Monday

Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight will deliver his annual State of the City presentation for 7 p.m. Monday, at Kokomo City Hall, 100 S. Union St.

This will be Goodnight’s sixth State of the City speech since he took office in 2008.

The State of the City address is free and open to the public, and will be rebroadcast on KGOV Channel 2, the City of Kokomo’s governmental access channel. For the second year in a row, the @Cityofkokomo Twitter account will be live tweeting the Mayor’s speech in order for residents who are unable to attend to follow the address in real time.

“Goodnight will highlight the City’s successes in 2012 and share plans for 2013. The mayor will address the challenges our city faces, and outline the administration’s goals and objectives for the coming year.

“He will challenge the community to demand greatness, as the City continues to work aggressively to improve the quality of life, our infrastructure and our economy,” a city press statement said about the upcoming speech.
