KOKOMO TRIBUNE
Kokomo —
A masked man, possibly armed, held up the Star Financial Bank branch on East Markland Avenue just before 10:30 a.m. Friday, getting away with an undisclosed amount of money.
Kokomo police said a witness saw the man, described as a white male, possibly in his 40s, getting out of a compact, dark-colored, two-door car on the north side of the bank just before the robbery.
The man was wearing what one teller described as an “old man” mask, and a baseball-style cap. Police said the man handed a teller a note, asking for money, but did not display a weapon.
Police were reviewing videotape from the bank to determine if the assailant might have had a weapon tucked inside the green jacket he wore. Over the green jacket, the robber was wearing a navy-blue, hooded, zip-up jacket. The man was also described as wearing blue jeans and white-colored tennis shoes.
No one saw which direction the man drove away in.
