Kokomo —
A 12-year-old boy suffered serious injuries early Friday when he was hit by a vehicle at Berkley Road and Columbus Boulevard.
The boy, whose name was not immediately released, was transported to St. Joseph Hospital and later airlifted to Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis for injuries to his head, mouth, shoulder and leg. He was in stable condition as of Friday evening.
Officer Troy Hintz said witnesses told police the boy ran into a moving white Buick LeSabre while crossing Berkley Road at Columbus Boulevard at about 7:38 a.m. The Buick, driven by a 17-year-old female, was westbound on Columbus, turning northbound onto Berkley when the boy ran into the vehicle, said Hintz.
