Police report catching robbery suspect red-handed

Kokomo — Kokomo police arrested a burglary suspect as he ran from a Low Bob’s Tobacco store late Saturday.

Officers were called shortly after 11 p.m. to the shop, at 221 W. Morgan St., in reference to an alarm.

Responding officers arrived and discovered the front door to the business had been forced open. At the same time, Kokomo police officer Dustin Spicer was patrolling the area of Spraker and Main streets and saw a man running from the area of Low Bob’s, Detective Chad Rodgers reported.

Spicer ordered the man to stop, but he kept running. The officer later caught 21 year-old Justin Fogle, Kokomo, in the 1700 block of North Buckeye Street.

Once captured, police found Fogle in possession of property discovered missing from Low Bob’s, Rodgers stated in a press release.

Fogle now faces a class D felony charge of burglary, a D felony for possession of stolen property and an A misdemeanor for resisting law enforcement.

Police said Fogle is being held at the Howard County jail on $15,000 bail. He is set to appear in court Tuesday for his initial hearing. If convicted, he could face up to eight years in prison for the C felony, three years on the D felony and up to a year on the misdemeanor.

Police also arrested a 14-year-old boy on a C felony for burglary and D felony for possession of stolen property. He was turned over to authorities at the Robert J. Kinsey Youth Center.
