Police arrest sex offender again

Dillman is accused of having sex with two 14-year-old girls

By MIKE FLETCHER

Five years after being released from prison for child molest, registered sex offender David M. Dillman is back behind bars.

This time, it is for allegedly having sex with two 14-year-old girls in June at two different residences, according to Kokomo police.

On Wednesday, Dillman, 29, who is now jailed with a $200,000 bail, was to be arraigned in Howard Superior Court 2 on the B felony charges. That hearing was continued at the request of his attorney, Michael Bolinger, until Nov. 20.

Officers arrested Dillman 9:37 a.m. Friday at his residence in the 300 block of East Broadway Street on a warrant for two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, according to a Kokomo Police Department arrest report.

Howard County Prosecutor James Fleming filed the two Class B felony charges last week after detectives interviewed the girls at Tomorrow’s Hope, a child-friendly advocate house used by police to interview victims of sexual crimes.

The girls claim Dillman began “touching” them in March and in June began having sexual intercourse with them, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in the case.

Dillman’s arrest comes 10 years after police arrested him on four counts of child molest for forcing a then-7-year-old girl to have intercourse and oral sex. Dillman initially was charged in Howard Circuit Court in 1997 with four counts of child molest, two Class B and Class C felonies.

He pleaded guilty to one of the C felony offenses and was sentenced to six years in prison. He was released in November of 2002 and is a registered sex offender.

If convicted on the recent charges, he could face up 20 years in prison on each charge.
