Kokomo Police said they recovered several items believed to be related to the Sunday morning robbery of a east side Village Pantry store.
Police responded to a 911 call from Village Pantry, 2021 S. Goyer Road, just before 8 a.m. Sunday, on a robbery report.
According to witnesses, two individuals, a male and a female, threatened the clerk with a Taser and demanded money.
The male was described as having tattoos on both the face and the neck, including one above his right eyebrow reading “Brandon” or “Branded,” police said. The man was described as 20 to 25 years of age, wearing a rust-colored bandana to cover part of his face, a black coat, jeans and a hat.
The female, also about 20 to 25 years old, was described as wearing a white coat, black pants, a black mask and a black hat.
“The female suspect approached the clerk brandishing a Taser, placed a bag on the counter and demanded the money from the store,” police said. “Both suspects came around the counter, telling the clerk that ‘we know you are not alone, hurry.’”
The suspects took an unknown amount of cash, grabbed several packs of cigarettes and fled the store on foot, traveling east toward the Cedar Crest Bowling alley, witnesses told police.
One witness said he watched the subjects walk to the Meadowlawn Apartments, 2403 Saratoga Ave., where he lost sight of them. The area was searched, but the suspects were not located.
Later Sunday morning, investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence of a male suspect, and located several items believed to be involved in the robbery. Police said they had not been able to identify the female suspect as of Sunday evening.
Police said Monday that arrests were anticipated in the case. The case remains under investigation.
