TIPTON — Officers arrested a man in Sharpsville over the weekend on suspicion of operating a methamphetamine lab in his home.
Jimmy C. Smith, 32, remained in Tipton County Jail on a $65,000 bail after the sheriff’s department arrested him on felony meth charges.
According to the Tipton County Sheriff Department, Deputy Scott Brumley received a tip Friday that someone was manufacturing the drug at a home in Sharpsville.
Brumley, along with deputies Matt Deckard, Korey Henderson and K-9 partner Duc and Sharpsville Marshal Steve Cox, went to the home and reportedly found equipment used for manufacturing meth.
The officers arrested Smith on preliminary charges of manufacturing meth, a Class B felony, and possession of meth, a Class D felony. They also arrested him on a warrant for failure to appear for a fees hearing on a possession of meth charge.
