Max E. Crouch

April 6, 1923 - Nov. 2, 2012

Kokomo — Max E. Crouch, 89, Tipton, died at 1:02 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at IU Health Tipton Hospital. He was born April 6, 1923, in Wildcat Township, Tipton County, to Guy and Helen (Meyncke) Crouch. On June 6, 1942, he married Rosemary Warner, and she preceded him in death Nov. 27, 2004.

Max worked for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1978. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and Farm Bureau. Max served on the Tipton County Council for 12 years and as a Tipton County commissioner for four years. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Air Force.

He is survived by seven sons, James Crouch and wife Cris, Arcadia, Robert Crouch and wife Brenda, Bunker Hill, George Crouch, Tipton, Charles Crouch and wife Kathy, Bloomfield, Jeffery Crouch and wife Jan, Tipton, Patrick Crouch and wife Judy, Bedford, and Douglas Crouch and wife Linda, Tipton; two daughters, Linda Enright and husband Kenneth, Windfall, and Katherine Bennett and husband Rick, Kokomo; several grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.  

Max was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Max’s funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Tipton, with the Rev. Leroy Kinnaman presiding. Burial will be at a later date in St. John’s Cemetery, Tipton, with military honors. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton.

Memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 340 Mill St., Tipton, IN 46072.
