Maryellen Boone

Kokomo — Maryellen Boone, 90, Peru, died at 5:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Rolling Meadows Healthcare Center, LaFontaine. She was born Aug. 6, 1922, in Peru, to Everett and Helen (Edwards) Borden, who preceded her in death. She was married Nov. 15, 1942, to George Boone, who preceded her in death Dec. 28, 1999.

She was a 1940 graduate of Butler Township School. A homemaker, she was a member of First Christian Church, Peru, and was active in the church’s women’s fellowship. She was a past member of Butler Happy Homemakers.

Surviving are two sons, Darrell and wife Sandra Boone, Wabash, and Gary and wife Leeanne Boone, Livingston, Texas; a daughter, Nancy and husband Tom Mills, Carmel; grandchildren, George Roger and wife Tonya Boone, Peter Boone, Philip and wife Shelly Boone, Andy and wife Natasha Boone, Karen Mills and Brian Mills; and great-grandchildren, Randall George Boone, Elijah Boone and Adeline Boone.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother, Harold Borden; and one sister, Irene Overman.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, Peru, with Pastor George McCarty officiating. Burial will be in Santa Fe Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church or Santa Fe Cemetery Association through the funeral home. Arrangements were entrusted to Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, Peru.
