Ronald Dean Gillem

Ronald Dean Gillem, 67, died Thursday, July 29, 2010, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Kokomo to the late John and Nellie Gillem.

He worked for Continental Steel in Kokomo for 25 years, Slater Steel for 17 years and Valbrun Steel for six years in Fort Wayne. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was member of the Life Bridge Church.

Surviving are his wife, Eloise Gillem, Churubusco; sons, David (Nickie) Gillem, Garrett, and Donald Gillem, Huntertown; daughter, Annette (Ken) White, Leo-Cedarville; brothers, John (Marianne), Russell, and Bill (Mary Ellen) Gillem, all of Kokomo; sisters, Ima Jean Sanders, Donnie Stevenson, Carolyn Randalls, Judy Hayes, Barbara Langley and Elizabeth (Francis) Fulk, all of Kokomo; grandchildren, Vanessa, and serving in the U.S. Navy, Nathan (Amanda), David, Stacie, Tracie, Richard, Jared, Aimee and James; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Dakota, Hailey, Michael and Aiden; sister-in-law, Patricia Leverton, Indianapolis; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary, and additional family, Ronnie and Rick.

Services are 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior to service. There is also calling 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
