Barbara Jean Whitley Whitehead Mosbaugh, 74, Kokomo, died at 12:52 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Community Howard Regional Health System. She was born July 15, 1938 in Kokomo, the daughter of Edward and Melma (Welte) Whitley.
Barbara was a 1957 graduate of Clay Township High School and a 1977 graduate of Indiana University at Kokomo. She retired as Director of Nursing at Americana Health Care in Kokomo.
She is survived by four children, Debra Mumaw and husband David, Kokomo, John Whitehead and wife Lisa of Lancaster, Penn., LaRie Miller and husband Eldon, Mount Joy, Penn., and Edward S. Whitehead, Indianapolis; grandchildren, Melissa LaRie Mumaw Acord, Janci Leigh Mumaw Voiles, Jobi Anne Mumaw Tabler, Allison Whitehead, Andrew Whitehead, Matthew Miller, Scotty Miller, Kawila Miller, Blaine Miller, Cody Whitehead and Kady Whitehead; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Dan Whitley, Galveston.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, John Edward Whitley; and one granddaughter, Jenna Whitehead.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, Lincoln Road Chapel, with family members officiating. Friends may call on the family from noon until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
