Robert Warren “Ozzie” Osborn, 65, Kokomo, passed away at 9:21 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. Born May 17, 1947, in Kokomo, he was the son of the late Warren Francis Osborn and Betty Jane (Wininger) Osborn. On June 24, 2006, he married Sharon Jocelyn (Luckey), and she survives.
He was a 1966 graduate of Kokomo High School. He was an engineer in the cable company industry, starting over 25 years ago with Telecable. He was also in the karaoke business for 18 years.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He loved his music. He was a member of American Legion Post 317, Greentown, and VFW Post 1152.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Jocelyn Osborn, Kokomo; two sons, Brian Osborn and Jack Burkett, both of Illinois; a stepson, Matt Ridgeway, Kokomo; one daughter, Kristy of Illinois; one stepdaughter, Misty (husband-DJoe) Griggs, Kokomo; one sister, Pat (Bill) Beeler, Kokomo; his mother-in-law, Vivian Luckey, Kokomo; sister-in-law, Mary (John) Troy; stepbrother-in-law, Ralph (Sharon) Porter; four stepgranddaughters, Kaly Griggs, Delaney Griggs, Phoenix Osborn and Jessica Ridgeway; one stepgreat-granddaughter, Lydian Ridgeway; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Judy Bozek; his first wife, Patricia Ann Osborn; and one sister-in-law, Karen Porter.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St. Pastors Kevin Miller, Paul Sutherland and Jim Cline will officiate. Burial with military rites by the U.S. Army and the Kokomo Military Rites Team will follow in Albright Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary.
