Wanda Nadine (Rosenbery) Christie

Dec. 30, 1933 - Jan. 20, 2013

Wanda Nadine (Rosenbery) Christie, 79, Kokomo, formerly of Mansfield, Melvin, and Champaign, Ill., passed away at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital. She was born Dec. 30, 1933, in Mansfield, Ill., to Foster L. and Madge (Warren) Rosenbery. On April 30, 1977, at Main Street United Methodist Church in Kokomo, she married Jerry L. Christie, and he survives.

She graduated from Melvin-Sibley High School in Melvin, Ill. Wanda had worked for Brada-Miller Freight Co. for 13 years as an executive secretary and also for Noel Law Firm for eight years as a legal secretary. She attended Main Street United Methodist Church in Kokomo, was also a member of Crimson Chapeau Red Hat Society, and enjoyed collecting antique toothpick holders, and bears.  

Survivors include her husband, of Kokomo; a sister, Lois Adams and husband Gordon, Mansfield, Ill.; a brother, Dwight Rosenbery and wife Shirley, Decatur, Ill.; a brother, C. Dale Rosenbery and wife Marcia, Mansfield, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Marianne Christie, Kokomo; many nieces and nephews and many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews; special aunts, Ruth Ann Ackerman, Carmel, and Dorothy Rosenbery, Mahomet, Ill.; special friends, Susie Vanbibber, Kokomo, Betty Weishaar, Rockwall, Texas, and JoAnn and Ed Milligan, Clearwater, Fla.

Special thanks from the family of Wanda to nurse Barbara Jackson for all of her care.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepfather, Robert E. Taylor; a sister, Frances Dixon; and a brother-in-law, Dick Christie.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. (Central Standard Time) Saturday at Blue Ridge Township Cemetery, Mansfield, Ill., with Pastor Sharon Monroe officiating.
