Kenneth LeRoy Mohler

Kenneth LeRoy Mohler, 86, late of St. Cloud, Fla., and formerly of Galveston, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at the home of his daughter in Florida. He was born Oct. 14, 1926, in Plymouth, to Clarence Ervin Mohler and Sarah Florence (Miller) Mohler. He was married Oct. 15, 1944, in Crawfordsville, to Mary Jo (McConnell) Mohler, who preceded him in death Sept. 15, 2005.    

He had been a farmer all of his life in Miami and Cass counties. He was a member of Young America Baptist Church and a member of the board of directors of the Walton Elevator. He had been a member of the Merchant Marines.

Surviving are a daughter, Jenny and the Rev. Steve Bate, St. Cloud, Fla.; grandson, Lance Edward Manning and wife Shannon, Greenwood; granddaughter, Lynn Suzette Butts and husband Lee, St. Cloud, Fla.; step-grandsons, Seth Stephen Bate and wife Jenny, Winfield, Kan., Joshua Edward Bate, Seattle, Wash., and Aaron John Bate, Colorado Springs, Colo.; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Mary Jo.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Murray-Weaver Funeral Home, Galveston Chapel, with the Rev. Steve Bate and the Rev. Marty Purcel officiating. Burial will be in Galveston Cemetery, Galveston. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
