Mable Virginia Cheesman

Sept. 25, 1926 - Feb. 4, 2013

— Mable Virginia Cheesman, 86, Springport, passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at IU Ball Hospital in Muncie. She was born Sept. 25, 1926, in Kokomo, to the late Alva Blaine and Alice (Humble) Moore.

She was a 1944 graduate of New London High School. Mable retired from Indiana Developmental State Hospital in 1989 following 27 years of service. She was a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in New Castle. She loved gardening and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Louis Cheesman, whom she married Oct. 20, 1951, in Noblesville; children, Russell Blaine (wife, Connie), New Castle, Fred Louis II (wife, Susan), Williamsburg, Va., and Douglas Keith Cheesman, New Castle; 11 grandchildren, Angela, Tina (husband, Murlin), Amber M., Andrea (husband, Luke), Summer, Amber W., Rocky (wife, Kelli), Nicky, Brant, Freddy and Christy; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Bessie Margaret Beebe, Sarah Katherine Jones, Willard Blaine Moore, John William Moore, Alva Junior Moore, Mary Alice Merrell, Anna Lutricia Brown and Colleen Marie Leedy.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in New Castle, with Pastor Donnie Silvers officiating. Burial will follow at Kokomo Sunset Memorial Garden in Kokomo. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Memorial contributions may be given to the Apostolic Pentecostal Church, 131 S. 26th St., New Castle, IN 47362, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
