Dean Scott ‘Doyle Dean Coffin’ James

Dean Scott “Doyle Dean Coffin” James, 81, Tamarac, Fla., passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013. Dean was born Oct. 16, 1931, to Otto and Maple Coffin in Russiaville. He was married Feb. 9, 1965, to Jo Ann Mathis. Together they had a daughter, Brenda Jo Coffin. Dean also adopted Jo Ann’s two daughters, Caroline and Theresa, from a previous marriage.

He was a loving father and brother to nine siblings, six brothers and three sisters. Dean served in the Air Force from October 1948 to 1951, and was very proud to serve his country.

Dean is survived by his daughters, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

A brief service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Pastor John Rhodes officiating. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service in Russiaville Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Stout & Son Funeral Home.
