Robert A. Stringer, 82, Arcadia, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. He was born May 1, 1930, in Indianapolis.
Bob, as he was affectionately known, was a member at Arcadia Church of the Brethren, where he served as an usher. He was an avid sports fan of the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers and auto racing. He also enjoyed woodworking and going to garage sales. He was employed at Woods Wire for 30 years.
He married Peggy Joan (Alexander) Stringer in 1974. She preceded him in death in 2006.
Surviving him are three sons, David Wright, Indianapolis, Robert Wright, Fishers, and Richard Wright, Arcadia; daughters, Cindie Million, Anderson, Mickie Kerfoot, Marble Falls, Texas, Paula Adair, Kokomo, and Patricia Bess, Tipton; special cousin, Betty Walker, Indianapolis; 21 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and a brother, Raymond Stringer.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Arcadia Church of the Brethren, with Pastor Benjamin Poole officiating. Burial will follow in Arcadia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
