Deborah Ann Albright, 60, Kokomo, passed away at 9:45 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, in St. Vincent Hospice, Indianapolis. Born Dec. 1, 1952, in Kokomo, she is the daughter of John William Albright and the late Gladys (Shufflebotham) Albright.
Debbie was a 1970 graduate of Northwestern High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University. She was employed as a cartographer for the U.S. Forest Service from 1973 to 2004, receiving many awards for her work. Debbie was a longtime member of NAAFA. She was also the 1970 recipient of the Betty Crocker Homemaker Award; her love of cooking and other crafts, like making greeting cards, brought joy to others throughout her life.
Survivors include her father, John William Albright, Kokomo; one brother, John William (wife Diana E.) Albright Jr., Indianapolis; one sister Kathy J. (husband Rodney) Merrell, Indianapolis; two nieces, Jennifer Merrell and Michelle Merrell; and two great-nephews Jack and Preston Reynolds.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
A memorial visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday in Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., Kokomo.
