Larry Lawrence Schwartz

Feb. 4, 1937 – Dec. 6, 2012

Larry L. Schwartz, 75, formerly of Kokomo, died peacefully Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 in Sun Lakes, Ariz. He was born Feb. 4, 1937 at home in Hildreth, Neb. He graduated from Hildreth High School in 1954 and went on to attend Midland Lutheran College in Freemont, Neb., where he married the former Rosalie Ruth Keiser, also of Hildreth, on April 28, 1957.  

He left Midland to join the Air Force, serving for four years as an electronics technician stationed in Puerto Rico. Upon leaving the service he returned to graduate from the University of Nebraska in 1963 with a degree in electrical engineering. He accepted a position with Delco Electronics in Milwaukee, Wisc., and later transferred to Kokomo where he worked until his retirement in 1999, when he moved to Sun Lakes, Ariz. After Rosalie’s death he met and married the former Joyce Kuehl of Spirit Lake, Iowa.

Larry was a faithful member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kokomo and Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Sun Lakes. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed reading and travel.

Larry is survived by his wife, Joyce; his daughter, Andrea; his son, Cory; his stepdaughter, Kim; his stepson, Nathan; and 13 grandchildren.
