Evelyn Glee Schipper, 86, Peru, passed away at 7:25 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 at Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru.

Evelyn was born Feb. 10, 1926 in Miami County, to Elmer and Addie Glee (Butt) Fites.

She was married March 3, 1946 to Roy E. Schipper, who preceded her in death Oct. 22, 1995.

Evelyn was a 1944 graduate of Gilead High School. She was a homemaker and farmer’s wife, as well as a school bus driver for more than 25 year for Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation. She was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church of Roann. Evelyn was also a seamstress and loved to play the piano and the organ.

Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Jane (David) Haynes, Akron, and Janet (Mike) Gonsalves, Mt. Juliet, Tenn; two sons, Paul E. (Diane) Schipper, Kokomo, and Randal E (Doris) Schipper, Roann; nine grandchildren, Aaron and Evan Schipper, Amy Weaver, Troy Schipper, Rebecca Bolinger, Travis and Nolan Haynes, Derek Haynes and Brook Betten; 12 great-grandchildren; and a

sister, Mary Weirick, Mexico.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Addie Fites; husband, Roy E. Schipper; three sisters, Ruth Bammerlin, Grace Waechter and Normalene Wagner; and three brothers, Ralph, Paul and James Fites.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Hartzler Funeral Home. Rev. Wayne Balmer will officiate.
