Marlon Phillip Ward, 82, Elwood, passed away at 9:10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home in Lafountain. He was born on Nov. 4, 1929, in Sidon, Ark., to Munford H. and Sally (Cisco) Ward. On Aug. 9, 1985, he married Betty Irene (Garr) Ward in Kennet, Mo.
Marlon was self-employed as a farmer all his life.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; five children, Retha Beckham and husband Fred, Marion, James Ward and wife Daisy, Gas City, Garry Ward and wife Doris, Akron, Kenneth Ward and wife Rita, Marion, and Phillip Ward and wife Nancee, Akron; three step-children, Mike Watson and wife Martha, Sharpsville, Gene Watson, Kokomo, and Sonie Widland, Kokomo; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, one grandson and one sister.
Service times are 1 p.m. Thursday at Boyer Funeral Home, 204 S. Church St., Sharpsville, with Pastor David Morris officiating. Burial will be in Sharpsville Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Fred was born Feb. 22, 1934, in Kokomo, to the late Emmett and Dorothy (Clark) Bagwell. He graduated from Kokomo High School.
