Kokomo —
N. Gene LaMar, 73, Kokomo, passed away at 12:40 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born in Indianapolis on Dec. 16, 1938, to the late Clarence and Marjorie (Irey) Means. On April 21, 1994, Gene married Bonita “Bo” (Gibbs) LaMar, and she survives.
Gene worked for 29 years as the captain of a fishing boat. He sold real estate, vacation condos and cars. Gene also painted for a short while. He was a loyal supporter of the NRA, and enjoyed shooting, “Jeopardy,” fishing, cooking and he loved his grandchildren. Gene was a proud Alcoholics Anonymous member, celebrating 30 years of sobriety.
Survivors include a son and four daughters, including Amber Crane; step-children, Robin (Bob) Acers, Linda (Rick) Wilson, Peggy Arnold and Jay, Angie (Shawn) Padfield and twins, Billie and Bobbie Frazier; a grandson, Ridge Farmer; thirteen other grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Connie Means; and two nieces and two nephews.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents; a step-son, Jay Farmer; a grandson, Chace Warnock; and a brother, Clarence “Sandy” Means.
Gene was cremated according to his wishes, and the family will be memorializing him privately.

Denver R. Walker
Denver R. Walker, 61, Kokomo, formerly of Ridge Farm, Ill., passed away at 6:38 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Century Villa Health Care. He was born Nov. 1, 1951, in Danville, Ill., the son of Denver Ralph and Sarah (Walthall) Walker. On June 7, 1997, he married Cynthia L. “Cindy” Hultz from Veedersburg, and she survives him.

George Frederick “Fred”Bagwell, 79, passed away at 11 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2013, at his residence surrounded by his family. He is now at rest with his Heavenly Father, whom he loved and served. Fred was born Feb. 22, 1934, in Kokomo, to the late Emmett and Dorothy (Clark) Bagwell. He graduated from Kokomo High School.

Christine “Granny” “Mother Goose” Cornelia Ligon, 96, Kokomo, passed away at 3:10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo. She was born Oct. 25, 1916, in Baron Plain, Tenn., the daughter of the late Tommy and Laura (Turner) King. On July 21, 1934, Christine married Timothy Calvin Ligon Jr. and they were happily married until his passing on Nov. 3, 1956.

Delores Mae Spicer
Delores Mae Spicer, on May 16, 2013, at the age of 81, gently passed this life in her sleep and was reunited with her husband Jack Wayne Spicer Sr., her Heavenly Father, her Savior, and her beloved son Jerry Dana Spicer. Our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend loved life and lived to serve others.

Russena Lucile (Maudlin) Comer, 64, Kokomo, died Sunday, May 19, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital. She was born Nov. 6, 1948, in Kokomo, the daughter of Russell F. and Gayle L. (Garrison) Maudlin. She married Kevin M. Comer Aug. 29, 1970, at Union Street Friends Church, and he survives.
