Frances G. Marshall, 95, Greentown, died at 5:50 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2012, at Century Villa Healthcare, Greentown. She was born Sept. 13, 1916, in Howard County, to Howard and Grace (Ball) Harper. She married Glendel Marshall on Oct. 16, 1935, and he preceded her in death in 1988.
Frances graduated from Jackson Township High School. She was a homemaker and worked at several restaurants in Swayzee. She was a member of Swayzee Christian Church and was a Sunday school teacher most of her adult life. Frances enjoyed baking, cake decorating, crocheting and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by a daughter, Marjory Burnworth, Swayzee; grandson, Mark (Tracy) Burnworth, Columbia City; granddaughter, LeAnn (Brent) Burnworth, Swayzee; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Brooklyn and Audrey; stepgreat-grandchild, Kelsey; brothers, Bill Harper, Vic (Vera) Harper, Dale (Janie) Harper and Tom (Shirley) Harper; sister, Sue (Gene) Alexander; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son-in-law, Ronald Burnworth; sisters, Mary Smeltzer, Mildred Pence, Candace Simpson and Elizabeth Charlotte Harper; brothers, George Harper and Harold Harper; sisters-in-law, Marietta Harper, Elizabeth Harper and Ann Harper; and brothers-in-law, Lawrence Smeltzer, Harold Pence and Ralph Simpson.
Services are 3 p.m. Friday at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St., Greentown, with John Buckley officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown. Visitation is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
