Edward Elias Gingerich

Edward Gingerich, 62, Kokomo, went to be with the Lord at 2:35 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital. Edward was born Jan. 9, 1948, in Howard County, to the late Eli and Abby (Kingsinger) Gingerich.

He was a member of Bethany Fellowship Church. He enjoyed being a dairy farmer, gardening, yard work and playing with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Irene (Kauffman) Gingerich, Kokomo; three sons and nine daughters, LaVern (Ernie) Gingerich, Lisa and husband, Marcus, Miller, Angela Gingerich and fiancé, Rodney Miller, Tracy and her husband, Jerimah, White, Rhonda and her husband, Moine, Martin, Regina and her husband, Jeff, Walker, Roxann Gingerich and special friend, Lee Lewis, Marlene Gingerich, Anita Gingerich and special friend, Dennis Otto, Crystal Gingerich, Christopher Gingerich and Ryan Gingerich, all of Kokomo; 15 grandchildren, Joyce, Hannah, Kevin, Kaylene, Timothy and Merlin Miller, Isaiah White, Racheal, Michael, Brenda and Myron Martin, Susan Matthew, Daisy Walker and Adaline Gingerich. He is also survived by four brothers and four sisters, Freida and Myrl Sauder, of Ohio, Roman and Virginia Gingerich, Kokomo, Elsie and John O’Brien, Amboy, John and Barbara Gingerich, Topeka, Orval and Sharon Gingerich, Kokomo, Edna Rankins, Kokomo, Claris and Wayne Burkholder, Goshen, and Jerry and Katie Gingerich, Kokomo, and mother-in-law, Nancy Kauffman, Kokomo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Abby Gingerich; one sister, Nadine Kauffman; three brothers, Freeman Gingerich, Henry Gingerich and Steve Gingerich.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bethany Fellowship Church, at the corner of 500 North and 500 East, Greentown. Burial will follow in Christner Cemetery, at the corner of 600 North and 500 East, Kokomo. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Bethany Fellowship School, 5169 N. 600 East, Greentown.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Galilian Home in Liberty, Ky.
