Phoebe G. Miller, 86, Kokomo, died at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at Samara Memory Care, Kokomo. She was born Sept. 9, 1923, in Galveston, the daughter of Charles and Cora (Miller) Merrell. She married Lawrence J. “Bert” Miller in 1941 in Kokomo. He preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 2002.
She was a homemaker and co-owned Miller’s Garage with her husband. She was a member of Howard County Democrats. She loved crocheting, word puzzles and traveling to Las Vegas.
Survivors include daughters Myrna Kelley, Kokomo, and Debbie and Bill Gaunt, Kokomo; son William “Bill” and Linda Miller, Kokomo; grandchildren Mrs. Jeff (Angel) Dwigans, John Gatlin, Missy Meyers, Heather Harrison, Butch Miller and Jerry Lee Gatlin; great-grandchildren Jennifer Dwigans, Mrs. Jake (Amanda) Sutherlin, Mrs. (Tory) Darnell George, Ali and Abbi Spencer, Carter Harrison, Henry Longfellow and Conner and Jacob Miller; great-great grandchildren Aralynn and Lorelia Sutherlin; sisters Juanita Minor, Bonnie Rewlings, Kay Howard and Becky Hoover, all of Kokomo; and a brother, Harold Merrell, Kempton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence “Bert” Miller; and 10 siblings.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Murray Weaver Funeral Home, Galveston, with Pastor Annie Glen and Pastor Justin Webber officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Kokomo. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
