Lorene E. Weaver Kitts, 93, Kokomo, passed away at 9:12 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at North Woods Village. She was born Nov. 7, 1919, in Jackson County, to the late Wayman and Hazel (Neff) Amos.
She was a homemaker for many years, but had worked for Reliance from 1947 until 1949. She enjoyed playing bingo, was very crafty, and loved to read.
Surviving are her four daughters and three sons-in-law, Jeannie and Larry Hilligoss, Nancy and Lyle Miller, Sue Weaver, and Melba and Joe Moser, all of Kokomo. Also surviving are many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She had two specials friends, Evelyn and Howard Burke, Kokomo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Rita Riddle, two sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., with Gary Ely officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.
