He was born April 25, 1927, in Windfall, to Delbert and Nancy Ellen (Howell) Fennell. He married Carolyn Bryan on Dec. 21, 1951, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 25, 1997. Jim then married Norma Stewart on Aug. 18, 2001, and she survives.
Jim worked for Solar Petroleum as a LP truck driver, Kolex Sign Division in Kokomo, and as a life insurance salesman for Prudential and Equitable of Iowa. He served in the Army, 11th Airborne Division, from 1946 to 1948.
Jim was a member of the Windfall Christian Church, where he served as an elder for many years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, NRA and Madison County Remote Controlled Airplane Club. Jim had been an amateur radio operator since 1960 with the call sign K9WKK. Jim loved playing golf and riding motorcycles. He was one solo flight short of his pilot’s license.
