Ricky Allen Schave, 59, Kokomo, passed away at 2:12 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at his residence, lovingly taken care of by his daughter, Bre. Rick was born to the late Gerald and Aleen (Granier) Schave on Jan. 30, 1953, in Wausau, Wis.
Rick grew up in Oakford and was a 1971 graduate of Taylor High School. He was a pipefitter for Chrysler for 39 years, retiring in 2010. He was a member of UAW Local 685; enjoyed riding his Harley, and muscle cars.
Ricky is survived by his children with his first wife, Mitzi White; son, Ty and Jennie Schave; daughter, Bre Schave and companion Kyle Baker; his children with his second wife, Kim (Krieg) Franks; sons, Levi and Sarah Schave, Darick Schave, and Travis Schave, all of Kokomo, Arthur Abbott, New Mexico; grandchildren, Dalton, Shelby, Levi, Emma, Lucy and Scarlett; great-granddaughter, Lauren; brothers, Todd and Beth Schave, Scott and Mandy Schave; sister, Cheryl and Matt Hale; stepmother, Brenda (King) Schave. There are also several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Chad McIntire.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday in Ellers Mortuary, Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St., Kokomo. A private memorial service for family only will begin at 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Fairbanks of Kokomo, 210 W. Walnut St., Kokomo, IN 46901. Envelopes will be available at the mortuary. Ellers Mortuary, Main Street Chapel, is handling arrangements.
