Larry ‘Ravi’ L. Yeary

Larry “Ravi” L. Yeary, 66, Kempton, died Monday, April 2, 2012, at Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis. He was born Aug. 21, 1945, in Frankfort, to Agbert and June (Gillenwater) Yeary. Larry was previously married to Marsha Yeary.

A 1963 graduate of Tipton High School, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1963 to 1967.

Larry retired from Chrysler in Kokomo after 30 years, and was a member of UAW Local 685. He had a passion for working on cars in his shop, did his own restorations and was certified in auto body repair. His pride was a 1967 Shelby Cobra Mustang that he purchased new from the dealer and maintained over the years.

Larry also enjoyed golfing, participating in various tournaments throughout Howard County benefiting local charities. He was also a very talented billiard shooter, traveling extensively playing in pool tournaments. Above all Larry was a very patriotic man who loved his country and God.

Larry was preceded in death by his father Agbert Yeary.

Larry is survived by his mother, June Yeary, Tipton; his children, Erin Yeary, Virginia, Nicholas Yeary, Tipton County, Cole Yeary, Kiersten Yeary (Patrick) Sanders, Kokomo, and Britt Yeary, Carroll, Ind.

Other survivors include his siblings, Laymon “Budgie” Yeary, Tipton County, Patricia Yeary Harlow, Tipton County, and Sharon Yeary Nadolski, Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his dog, Tink.

Services are 2 p.m. today at Porter Funeral Home, Tipton. Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pastor Mike Sawyer will officiate, with burial in Kempton Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Disabled Veterans Association, 6285 Pearl Road, Cleveland, OH 44130. Online condolences can be made at www.porterfh.com.
