Luella M. “Rosie” Jones, 81, Kokomo, passed away at 11:50 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at Howard Regional Health System. She was born Feb. 21, 1928, in Carroll County, to Gerald E. and Eva A. (Bougher) Smith. On Sept. 13, 1946, she married Richard “Dick” Jones. He died Oct. 3, 1992.
She retired in 1981 from Delco Electronics after 30 years of service. After retirement, she worked as a Home Health Care Personnel for four to five years.
Survivors include her children, Rebecca Smith, Anderson, Ronald and wife Gayle Jones, Thomasville, N.C., and Sandy and husband Richard Mince, Kokomo; a daughter-in-law, Kim Jones, Kokomo; a son-in-law, Steve Miller, Texas; and one brother, Harold and wife Della Smith, Burlington; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Danny Jones, who died in 1990; and one daughter, Linda Miller, who died in 1990.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, Neptune Chapel, 44 Michigan Ave., Burlington, with Pastor Steve York officiating. Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
