Beverly R. “Nan” Cone

May 17, 1919 — Nov. 13, 2012

Beverly R. “Nan” Cone, 93, Kokomo, passed away at 3:32 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 at her residence. She was born May 17, 1919, in Kokomo, to the late William Boruff and Agnes (Munier) Boruff Brown. On Dec. 1, 1943 in Nashville, Tenn., she married William “Poppy” Cone. Mr. Cone passed away in 2008.

Beverly worked and managed several businesses here in Kokomo, including Fanny Farmer Candy shop, Sweet Heart Jewelry Shop and Carl-Ann Dress Shop. She also volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital. She loved shopping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved attending their sporting events. She enjoyed entertaining and making every holiday special. She will be greatly missed. Beverly was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, Alter Rosary Society, American Business Woman’s Association and Cheer Guilt at Saint Joseph Hospital.    

Surviving two children, Michael (Tammi) Cone, Kokomo, and Karen (DeWayne) Richmond, Kokomo; three grandchildren, William (Shannon) Cone, Brad (Melissa) Richmond and Brent (Melissa) Richmond; great-grandchildren Ashley Cone, Amy Cone, Jake Gordon, Zane Gordon, Brycen Richmond, Brayden Richmond, Taylor England, Tanner England, James Richmond, Jacob Richmond, Jacey Richmond, Jansen Richmond and one soon-to-be Rylan Richmond; special friends Jerry and Justin Hyatt, Melissa Bell, Kimberly Cone and Gloria Boruff; special nieces Cheri Cheril and Colleen Rich; as well as several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Jerry Boruff.   

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3155 S. 200 West, Kokomo, with Reverend Father Ted Dudzinski and Father David Hellman celebrating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, with a Rosary service beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel. 3400 S. Webster St., Kokomo.
