— Fred R. Moore, 60, Lafayette, formerly of Forest, died at 5:41 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born April 3, 1951, in Kokomo, to James L. Moore and Jeanette (McCarty) Moore Hise. He married Linda K. (Oakes) Moore on March 3, 1974, and she survives.
He was a 1969 graduate of Clinton Central High School. He worked for 25 years at Alcoa in Lafayette and for six years at Martin Parts and Service. He was a volunteer fireman for the Forest Fire Department for several years. He attended Christ Memorial Temple in Lafayette.
He is survived by his spouse, Linda Moore; his mother and stepfather, Jeanette (James Robert) Hise, Forest; three children, Steven (Holly) Moore, Portland, Ore., Leann Grimes, Virginia, and Fred R. (Crystal) Moore Jr.; one brother, James W. (fiancée Kim) Moore, Forest; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Paul and Mary Rogers, Chrissy and Dave Earlywine, Mike Oakes and Steve Oakes; father-in-law, William Oakes; three stepbrothers; and three stepsisters.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Gary Moore.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Stout and Son Funeral Home, Russiaville Chapel, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Pastor Max Kingsolver officiating. Burial will follow in Veneman Cemetery near Forest. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour before the service Thursday at the funeral home.
