Rebecca “Becky” J. (Tygart) Yates, 58, Kokomo, went peacefully to be with the Lord and in the loving arms of her husband, Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born March 6, 1954, in Kokomo, to the late Glen B. and Mary C. (Dowden) Tygart. On Feb. 16, 1974, in Kokomo, she married Charles “Chuck” B. Yates. He preceded her in death Oct. 27, 2007.
She was a homemaker who loved to be with her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Along with her many interests, she was everyone’s “Ma Beck.”
Surviving is a daughter and a son-in-law, Monica and Scott Chambless, Kokomo; son and a daughter-in-law, Brad and Kathy Yates, Kokomo; four grandchildren, Kortny Jewell, Kristopher Jewell, Gabriella Jewell and Cheyenne Yates; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Kay and Bill Barclay, Kokomo, and Cathy Morton, Hemlock; and one brother and a sister-in-law, Bill and Cathy Tygart, Kokomo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St. with Pastor David Mygrant officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
