Steve Barnett, 60, passed away the morning of Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at his home in Kokomo. He was born Aug. 16, 1952, in Kokomo, the son of Clarence Raymond and Mary Rebecca (King) Barnett.
He was a 1970 graduate of Kokomo High School, and went on to serve in the National Guard from 1970 to 1973. Steve spent 20 years as a maintenance supervisor at Delco, and the last 15 years of his career as a building inspector for the City of Kokomo.
He enjoyed being with his grandkids, working out, fishing, playing golf and was an avid landscaper.
He is survived by his children, Jennifer (Troy) Clark, and Scott (Beth) Barnett, both of Kokomo; grandchildren, Audriana Clark, Alexis Clark, Aliya Clark, Emma Barnett and Ella Barnett; siblings, Evelyn (Leland) Rush, Beverly Hunter, Jeanette (Mike) Huffman, Barbara (Clyde) Wilkerson, Mitchell Barnett, Bill (Kathie) Barnett and Jim (Carol) Barnett; as well as several nieces and nephews; former wives, Debra Rose, Kokomo, and Sabrina Barnett, California; and her children, Kevin Jamison, Kristopher Kanable and Keirsten Kanable, all of Kokomo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at First Church of the Nazarene, 2734 S. Washington St., Kokomo, with Pastor David Leeder officiating. Burial will follow in Barnett Cemetery in Western Howard County. Friends are invited to call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church and one our prior to the service on Saturday.
