— Naomi Joyce Brown, 76, Kokomo, passed away on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born April 22, 1935, in Kokomo, to Fredrick Kent and Jennie (Hale) Beecher.

She graduated from Kokomo High School in 1953. She worked at Hausman Steel, Palmer’s Jewelry, radio station Z-93 and Treasure Mart.

She was a member of the Howard County Historical Society and volunteered at the Seiberling Mansion. She also volunteered for Samaritan Caregivers and read to the blind. She enjoyed attending park concerts by the Kokomo Park Band and was a supporter of community concerts. She also supported the FOP. She was in the Kokomo Civic Theater and was a professional vocalist. She was a lifetime member of First Christian Church and sang in the choir for more than 60 years. She enjoyed boating and spending time at the lake and with family.

She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey M. (Linda) Larson, and Steven K. (Tina) Larson; two daughters, Catherine L. (Larry) Gerlach, and Linda J. (William) Gunther; seven grandchildren, Christopher Jewell, Shannon Larson, Terry Larson, Erica Newton, Greg Martin, Kevin Martin and Scott Larson; seven great-grandchildren; her one and only special companion, Bill Mosier, and her beloved dog, Sugarbaby.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two grandchildren, Aaron Jewell and Susan Jewell.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church, with Pastor Will Jewsbury officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visiting hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home and from noon until the time of service on Friday at the church.

    Helen Louise Brown, 85, Kokomo, died Monday, May 21, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. She was the daughter of Edna and George Seitz, Walkerton. On Dec. 19, 1948, at Walkerton Methodist Church, she married Milton Brown, who survives. Helen and Milt were married for more than 63 years.

    Mary Edith (Knight) Ratcliff, 93, Kokomo, died at 11:11 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2012, at her home, where she had been cared for by her family. She was born Aug. 3, 1918, in Clinton County. She was one of three daughters born to the late Evert and Edith (Finney) Knight. On July 4, 1939, she married Chester Ratcliff who preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 1977.
