Mark E. Smith

Mark E. Smith, 56, Logansport, died at 4:45 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at his residence. He was born April 15, 1956, in Tipton, to Cecil “Bud” and Bernice (Freeman) Smith. He was married Feb. 4, 1994, in Cass County, to Deborah S. Lemasters.

Mark was an electrician and plumber for Countywide Electric & Plumbing, Delphi. Mark enjoyed camping, woodworking, fishing and making people laugh.

Surviving are his wife, Deborah S. Smith, Logansport; daughters, Erica (Fredie) Elliott, Bloomington, Amber K. (Chris) Hanners, Bloomington, and Jessica Soots, Indianapolis; sons, Luke (Terri) Smith, Holton, and Vincent Retartha, Peru; sisters, Denise (Roger) Ryan, Windfall, and Patsy Carroll, Elwood; brothers, Briggs Smith, Center, and Steve (Nina) Smith, Kokomo; and 11 grandchildren.

A brother, Bobbie Smith, and a sister, Zella Ann Smith, preceded in him in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gundrum Funeral Home & Crematory, with the Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
