Rodney Leon Bell

Feb. 18, 1953 - Jan. 10, 2013

Rodney Leon Bell, 59, Marion, died at 3:05 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013. He was born in Groton, Conn., to the late Max Bell and Barbara (Hensel) Bell. He married Julia Johnson on Aug. 10, 1990. She survives.

Rodney was employed at Chrysler in Kokomo for 18 years and previously worked at SCM in Marion for 22 years. He served in the U.S. National Guard for six years and was a member of UAW, Kokomo. He loved fishing, camping and hunting, especially at Dogwood in southern Indiana. He enjoyed collecting coins and liked driving his Dodge Ram diesel.  

The funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Surviving are his wife, Julia (Johnson) Bell, Marion; mother, Barbara Bell; siblings, Patty Smith, Texas, Randy (Trudy) Bell, Muncie, Troy Bell, Muncie; grandchildren, Kaleb (Brittany Hooper) Bell, Marion, Julian Bell, Tipton, Jacob Bell, Marion, Jared Brannum, Tipton; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and cat, Miss Lucy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Max Bell; son, Bill Bell; daughter, Michelle Bell; and sister in infancy, Diana Bell.
