Wilma S. Rayl

Wilma S. Rayl, Kokomo, passed away at 2:45 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Waterford Place Health Campus, Kokomo. She was born in Kokomo, the daughter of Frank and Clara Belle (Ancil) Stedry. She married Edgar “Ed” Rayl on Aug. 23, 1942, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 2003.

Wilma graduated from Kokomo High School in 1940. Wilma retired from Delco Electronics on Jan. 1, 1990, after 29 years of employment there.  

Wilma is survived by one son, Gary Michael (Sylvia) Rayl, Chicago, Ill.; four grandchildren, Jason Rayl, Waukesha, Wis., Tiffany Rayl, Landsdale, Pa., Jared Rayl and Alyson Robertson, both of Chicago, Ill. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Rayl and Roseland Rayl, Kokomo, and Lois Stedry, St. Petersburg, Fla.; one brother-in-law, Robert Rayl, Kokomo; and many special cousins.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edgar “Ed” Rayl; one sister, Virginia Fording; and two brothers, Ed Stedry and Frank Stedry.

There will be a funeral service for Wilma S. Rayl at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., with the Rev. Harold Williams officiating. Following the funeral service, we will be taking Wilma to her final place of rest at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery, Kokomo. All of Wilma’s friends and family are welcome to join together for a time of visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, also at the mortuary.
